Welcome to MEMPHIS
for Florida Local Mitigation Strategy Support

MEMPHIS (Mapping for Emergency Management, Parallel Hazard Information System) is an experimental web based system to allow emergency managers to easily access a variety of hazard related data. This page is in support of the Florida Local Mitigation Strategy Project. The links below will take you to documentation or start the mapserver to allow access to the outputs for the Florida Local Mitigation Strategy data sets created by Kinetic Analysis Corporation under contract with the Florida Department of Community Affairs.

System Status: Thursday 30 August 2007.
Phase 1 of the 2007 LMS data update has been completed. RPC boundaries have been added to the online mapping menus, and all hazard and impact data layers, GIS maps and PDF reports are now available by Regional Planning Council (RPC).

Phase 2 will be initiated soon and will involve updating many of the input data bases (terrain, Census, and tax records based exposures) using the most recent available data and technology, as well as creating new hazard layers.

The following button will start Mapserver and allow you to view and access the raw hazard layers. The hazards mapped in Florida are hurricane, tornado, thunderstorm and hail damage, earthquake, and potential for wildland fires, tsunamis, and sinkholes. This interface includes RPC Boundaries and data access.

The following menu allows you to select a county, then by selecting the button "Specific County Data Layers" start mapserver to create maps and access data for that specific county.
